Workshop on rare Swati Tirunal Kritis; Chennai
Nadasangamam, the music wing of Narada Gana Sabha in Chennai is organising a music workshop – Kritiparichaya - on Saturday, September 21, 2013 in Chennai. The resource person is the senior and eminent musician and teacher, Seetha Rajan who is based in Chennai. She will teach rare compositions of Swati Tirunal. It will be held between 10 am and 12: 30 pm at Narada Gana Sabha's mini hall. Contact 24993201 for registration. It is open to all interested students of music.

Music contests for young Bangaloreans
Under the auspices of the MES Kalavedi, a cultural wing of the Mysore Education Society (R). the Veena Seshanna Memorial Inter Collegiate Carnatic Vocal Music Competition and Swaramurthy V.N. Rao Memorial Inter Collegiate Carnatic Instrumental Music Competition is to be held. Sponsored by Dr. Kaveri Sridhar, these will be held on Friday the 15th November 2013 for vocal music and Saturday the 16th November 2013 for Instrumental music, 10 a.m. onwards.These will be held in the Conference Hall of the MES College, 15th Cross, Malleswaram, Bangalore – 03. These competitions are open only to the Pre University and Degree Colleges of the Bangalore city and two students each are allowed to participate in the competition.
