Lec-dem on rare ragas; Bangalore
Ananya, the Bangalore-based cultural body which promotes concerts and music education has been hosting a series of lec-dems to educate rasikas, artistes and others on rare ragas. Each session presents a senior artiste who choose one or more ragas and expounds on it, using songs as examples during the lec-dems. In continuation of this series called APOORVA RAAGA DARSHINI, the ragas Poornalalitha,Megharanjani, Bhooshavali and Bhoga Dhanyasi wil be presented. This sessions is by Vid.Geetha Ramanand with veena support by tJayashri Srinivas, accompanied by Vid.Adamya Ramanand on the mrudanga. Ravi Kiran's Lec-dem on rare tillanas
Carnatic music maestro Chitravina Ravikiran will be conducting a workshop on Vintage Tillanas at a venue in Chennai. This is planned for June 3 evening at the Arkay Centre in Luz, Chennai. Madhuradhwani is the host. A note says he will selecting tillanas of Patnam Subramanya Iyer, Poochi Srinivasa Iyengar, Tanjore Quartet, Veena Seshanna and Tanjavur Shankara Iyer.
