CHENNAI: Tribute to T. Muktha

Senior Bharatanatyam dancer Alarmel Valli pays tribute to the legendary T. Muktha, a Carantic music guru in the guru’s centenary year with a three-day festival in Chennai.
Nov.9 at Sivagami Pethachi Auditorium in Alwarpet features a dance-music theme recital of padams and javalis by Alarmel Valli and Bombay Jayashri. 6 p.m.
On Nov.10, at this hall will be a Kathak recital by Aditi Mangaldass. 7 p.m.
On Nov.8 at Alliance Francaise in Nungambakkam, there is talk on T. Muktha by V. Sriram, a conversation between Valli, Jayashri and poet Arundhati Subramaniam and later, a concert of Muktha’s padams and javalis by Nirmala Sundararajan and Subhashini Parthasarathy.
