If the attendance at concerts of the top rung music artistes is a dipstick, then one can say that the December season
has warmed up and will tread a positive course.
On Sunday evening, after the formal launch of the fest and awards ceremony of Sri Parthaswarathy Swami Sabha at a Mylapore kalyana mahal, T V Sankaranarayan's concert was a big hit among the rasikas here.
Earlier, Sanjay Subrahmanyam's first concert of the season, held at Narada Gana Sabha for Kartik Fine Arts was another warmer, as rasikas consumed all that the artiste had to give them that evening.
Once Music Academy opens its festival on May 15 evening, the music concerts are bound to create a big buzz and draw in all rasikas.
Perhaps, many rasikas from outside Chennai and NRis may skip this 'season'. That loss is evident even now.
