In Royapuram's Sri Kothandaramar Temple in north Chennai, a 30-day long music festival is on now for the season of margazhi.
The hosts, with support from musicians/artistes hold concerts in this small temple, every day, 7 a.m. onwards.
Says veena artiste B. Kannan who presented a concert last week, "The atmosphere is serene and some 100 rasikas sit through the hour-long concert. And when the music floats, even the daily-wage labourers outside the temple precincts step in to listen."
Kannan was connected with the hosts by 'ghatam' Karthick. The networking is helping spread the margazhi music to more parts of this city.
