 Dancing Tales... Panchatantra 
 Divyanjali's new production 


Dancing Tales... Panchatantra

Hyderabad based dancer, choreographer Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayant, who will receive the award Nritya Choodamani for this year from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, is known for her dance productions. She combines Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi making them at once contemporary and communicative.

Her productions include ‘Sri Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’, ‘Buddham Saranam Gachchami’, ‘Expressions of Truth’ on the ideals of the Mahatma, 'Darshanam – An Ode to the Eye’ among others.

She will be staging the Chennai Premiere of her new production 'Dancing Tales...Panchatantra' on Dec. 2 at Narada Gana Sabha at 7 pm for Karthik Fine Arts.

The production will be staged at the Rasa Sanje Festival at Bangalore on Jan. 1 2007 which will be held at ADA Rangamandira, JC Road, Bangalore and at YGP Auditorium for Bharat Kalachar in Chennai on Jan. 3.

Ananda Shankar Jayanth will be giving a solo performance at Sri Krishna Gana Sabha on Dec. 8 at 7.30pm

Divyanjali's new production

Thrayee - A Divine Reminiscence, is the new production from Divyanjali School of Dance and Music, run by dancer Divyasena.

'Thrayee' is a dancing tribute to trinity of music, namely Thyagaraja, Muthuswamy Dikshitar and Shyama Sastry, portraying their divine compassion towards Mother Kamakshi in two Classical dance forms, Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. Through this presentation the three distinctive modes of the Mother has been depicted by the three legends in three different languages Tamil, Telugu and Sanskrit.

The presentation will commence with a Mallari in praise of the Trinity. This will be followed by the well known works of Syama Sasthri, Tyagarajar and Dikshitar in Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi and jugalbandhi respectively.

Concept, direction and choreography is by Mosalikanti Kishore and Divyasena.
