Jaya TV hosts Margazhi Maha Utsavam

Chennai based TV channel, Jaya TV hosts Margazhi Maha Utsavam from Dec. 1 to 15 at Kumara Rajah Muthiah Hall, Chettinad Vidyashram School, R. A. Puram.

On Dec. 1, Bombay Jayashri will give a performance. Nithyasree Mahadevan's concert is on Dec. 2, followed by Unnikrishnan's performance on Dec. 3. Vocal duet by Ranjani and Gayathri will be held on Dec. 4. Chitravina Ravikiran will join senior vocalist O. S. Thiagarajan and mridangam maestro Umayalpuram Sivaraman on Dec. 5. Flute trio N. Ramani, R. Thyagarajan and Atul Kumar will perform on Dec. 6.

Neyveli Santhanagopalan on Dec. 7 and Sanjay Subrahmanyan on Dec. 8. Sudha Raghunathan will sing on Dec. 9 and Aruna Sairam's concert will be held on Dec. 10. O. S. Arun will perform on Dec. 11, followed by Priya Sisters on Dec. 12 and S. Sowmya on Dec. 13. Harikatha by Vishakha Hari will be held on Dec. 14 and a violin duet by Ganeshand Kumaresh will be held on Dec. 15.

The concerts will be held at 6.30pm daily and open to all.

Dance recital to the voice of maestro Maharajapuram Santhanam

A young dancer Manaswini Sridhar, disciple of guru Suma Mani will be giving a dance recital to the mystic voice of late musician Maharajapuram Santhanam. The dance programme will be blended with scintillating jathis composed by guru Suma Mani, says Manaswini. The program will be presided over by the maestro's son and vocalist Maharajapuram Srinivasan.
