Kala Pradarshini presents verses of Bhagavad Gita

'Krsna Madhuryam' is a multimedia production of select verses from Bhagavad Gita with visual effects and animation. Kalapradarshini, run by dancer - guru Parvathy Ravi Ghantasala presents this new production this season.

Krishna madhuryam is a spiritual dedication to the paramathma, the parama purusha, and the one who pervades the entire universe and who dwells as in each one of us, says choreographer Parvathy Ravi Ghantasala.

Conceptulaised by Justice K. S. Baktavatsalam and with music compilation by L. Vaidyanathan and Hari Prasad, Krsna Madhuryam, will bring out the various facets of Krishna ranging from the willful child to the profound philosopher.

M. S. Subbulakshmi's Meera in dance

'Meera – A Tribute to MS', a Bharatnayam DVD is a tribute to the legendary musician M. S. Subbulakshmi, by Shobana Bhalchandra, a dancer, guru and choreographer. She is the youngest of the Trio Sisters of Chennai.

The DVD was released on the second death anniversary at a function organised by Bharat Kalachar on Dec. 11.

'Meera' is a Bharatnatyam recital set to the soulful melodies remixed from Meera, the celluloid classic of 1945 in which M. S. Subbulakshmi played the Rajput queen-devotee of Lord Krishna. Some of the songs like Nandabala, Girdhara Gopala, Ennadu Ullamae and Katriniley Varum Geetham which are used for this production have been in public memory even after half century.

The DVD was released by 'The Hindu' N. Murali and the first copy was received by dance gurus Shantha and V. P. Dhananjayan. Another copy was received by the famed dancer Kalanidhi Narayanan. Mrs. Y.G.Parthasarathy, Chairperson, Bharat Kalachar was the Guest of Honour.
