The aspect of Abhinaya, especially through Padams and Javalis has gained immence importance in a Bharathanatyam recital. Senior dance guru Kalanidhi Narayan, a Abhinaya exponent has trained a number of leading dancers in the art of Satvika Abhinaya through Padams and Javalis.
Priyadarshini Govind, one of the senior most disciples of Kalanidhi Narayan will be presenting an evening with exclusive Abinaya numbers for Brahma Gana Sabha on Dec. 20, 2006 at the Sivagami Pethachi Auditorium at 7pm.
"There is no special reason why I am doing this. But I just feel like doing an exclusive programme of Abhinaya items, as I will be performing the traditional Margam in other Sabhas" said Priyadarshini Govind.
Bragha Bessel, another senior disciple of Kalanidhi Narayan will be rendering an Abhinaya special programme with only Padams and Javalis for the Krishna Gana Sabha on Dec. 14, 2006 at 6.15 pm. " I was asked to perform just padams and javalis at the Krishna Gana Sabha as I teach abhinaya in Kalakshetra and other institutions abroad", said Bragha. She will present dance recitals in the regular Margam in other sabhas like the Brahma Gana Sabha and Narada Gana Sabha.

Exclusive 'Padams' and 'javalis' concert
Senior musician Dr. Nirmala Parthasarathy and her daughter Subhashini Parthasarathy will perform two exclusive thematic concerts of padams and javalis this season.
One will be held for Brahma gana Sabha on Dec. 15 at 2.45 at Sivagami Pethachi Auditorium, Mylapore and the other is for Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha on Dec. 17 at 3pm at Vidya Bharathi Kalyana Mandapam, Mylapore. Top 
Three unique programmes by Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha and Mudhra
Sri Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha in co-ordination with Mudhra is organising three unique programmes during this December Music festival. The events are -
1. Ariyakudi to Semmangudi - a tribute to the past legends of Carnatic music.
This will be a unique tribute/musical feature on 15 past stalwarts who have enriched Carnatic music with their own inimitable style and captivating presentation. There will be power point presentation on the life and musical contribution of each stalwart with audio clippings and rare photographs. Live inputs will be made by noted musicologist Dr. S. A. K.Durga and Dr. Radha Bhaskar.
The programme will be held on Dec.10, 2006- (10am- 12 noon)
2. Navarathinangal
This is a musical presentation, which will highlight the beauty of the compositions of nine vaggeyakaras – Thyagaraja , Muthuswamy Dikshitar , Shyama Sastri , Swathi Thirunal , Purandaradasa, Papanasam Sivan, Gopalakrishna Bharathi , Patnam Subramanya Iyer , Kotiswara Iyer.
The programme will have a power point presentation on the history and contribution of each composer followed by rendering of select compositions by nine vocalists, Lakshmi Rangarajan, Sriram Gangadharan, Prema Rangarajan, Shreyas Narayanan, Visalakshi Nithyanand Dr.Radha Bhaskar, G.Srikanth, Mohan Santhanam , Uma Maheswaran.
This programme will be held on Dec.17, 2006 (10am- 12 noon)
3. Guru - shiya Parampara– a panel discussion by senior gurus and their students on changing trends in teaching and learning of Carnatic music.
The panelists who will discuss this issue are – O.S.Thiagarajan, Suguna Varadachari, Dr. B .M.Sundaram, Dr.Pramila Gurumurthy, Dr. R.Kausalya , Ghatam V.Suresh, T.V.Ramprasad.
This will be held on Dec.23, 2006 (10am- 12 noon).
All the programmes will be presented by musician and musicologist Dr.Radha Bhaskar and co-ordinated by C.S.Srinivasan.
