‘Sthree’ Thyagarja Pancharathnam

Mudhra will be organising a unique Thyagaraja’s Pancharathnam singing exclusively by 50 women artistes (in sruti 5) on 2nd January 2011 at Infosys Hall, RKM School, T.Nagar at 6.30p.m.

Musical medley to welcome 2011

If you wish to carry the season's musical mood into 2011, then you may want to head to The Music Academy on Friday night where Carnatica is hosting its musical party.

This has been a recent tradition that these two organizations have taken forward.

Dozens of musicians, vidwans and gurus as well as the young stars go on stage to thread a medley of concerts, some thematic, some light.

It is an enjoyable, pleasant exercise and a rasika has to just sit back and soak in.

After the clock strikes twelve, traditional sweets and savouries will be distributed, courtesy Sangeetha restaurant.

The city police have asked all hotels in Chennai to close their shows at 1.30 am., but this musical show will run till about 2 a.m. and the police may not mind it!
