Every year, at December Season time Parivadini, a tiny music promotion body led by Lalitharam Ramachandran who works in Bengaluru turns the focus on nagaswaram and tavil greats and those who live and work in the shadows.
It's single event awards makers of instruments and has vidwans on stage to share their life, music and learnings.
So on Dec. 30, 6.30 p.m. at Raga Sudha Hall, Luz Parivadini will award the Parlandu Award to nagaswarm maker Selvaraj for his artisanal work and contribution to music.
Thereafter, senior artistes Injikuddi E M Mariappan and Thirunageswaran T R Subramanian will give lec-dems on their art.
Parivadini has done a great amount of work in documenting, staging and understanding nagaswaram-tavil music.
