| On 11 August 2003, Uttara Center for Performing Arts (UCPA) celebrated its 4th anniversary at Thagaraya Gana Sabha, Chikkadpally, Hyderabad. UCPA is run by flautist Jayaprada Ramamurthy and Bharatanatyam dancer Geetha Ganesan.
A flute concert was presented by the disciples of Jayaprada Ramamurthy and Bharatanatyam by the students of Geetha Ganesan. The dozen or so flautists, ranging in age from 5 to 50, played in unison. The renditions included Simhendramadhyam, Kadana Kuthuhalam and Madhyamavathi and ‘Magadi’. The highlight of the Bharatanatyam recital, was the presentation of a dance drama, 'Sita Kalyanam'. P. R. Balakrishnan was honoured with the title 'Acharya Ratna'. Nookala Chinna Satyanarayana and Shobha Naidu graced the occasion. A souvenir was also released on the occasion.
