The season for Thyagaraja Aradhana Utsavas kicked off in Hyderabad on January 7. The Department of Cultural Activities of the A. P. Government has organized a series of short concerts spanning over a week at Ravindra Bharathi. Several upcoming artists from all over the state, from Vizianagaram in the Northeast to Hyderabad are performing in this event. Flautist Jayaprada Ramamurthy, gave the inaugural concert.

Sangeeta Vidwat Sabha of Kakinada hosts its 58th annual Thyagaraja Aradhana kutcheris from January 14 to 23, 2004. Renowned artistes from Chennai and Andhra Pradesh will be performing during this Utsava. They include Ranjani and Gayatri (Vocal Duo), Palghat R. Ramprasad, Gayatri Venkataraghavan, M. Chandrasekharan and Bharati (Violin Duo), 'Rukmini Kalyanam' Kuchipudi dance drama, Vijayawada Saraswati & Krishnaveni (Vocal duo), Mala Chandrasekhar (flute), T.V.Sankaranarayanan, Mambalam Sisters- Vijayalakshmi and Chitra and Trichur V. Ramachandran.
Programmes will be held at Suryakala Mandiram. Admission is Free.
State-level music competitions in vocal and veena will also be conducted.
