The event began at half past 9 in the morning. The first match was played between the teams led by N. Guruprasad and S. Varadarajan. A good show by the bowlers of Varadarajan's team saw them go through to the finals.

The next match was between the teams led by Trivandrum Balaji and violinist V.V.S. Murari. It was Balaji's team that won here.

After lunch, Balaji's team decided to bat first. But a poor show with the bat saw them get out for a paltry score of 47. And, Varadarajan's team won at the final match.

The Musicians Cricket match is being played for the past 10 years now and it's an event they look forward to after the strenuous December season in Chennai. It has been organized and conducted by YACM for the past three years, and YACM even plans to hold an event exclusively for lady artistes in the forthcoming years.
