The well known Nishagandhi festival in Kerala rolls this week. From April 5 to 12, the classical music and dance fest will be held at the the famed Nishagandhi open air auditorium of the sprawling Kanakakkunnu Palace grounds in Thiruvananthapuram.
And this year, the partnering state, Andhra Pradesh, brings a 60-member troupe to perform here. (Last year, the partnering state was Rajasthan)
Andhra Pradesh Tourism Director, Kishen Rao and Asst. Director Radhakrishna Moorthy will attend the festival too. A Kuchipudi group will perform at the inauguration. Later, folk artistes present Dola
Vinyasam, Tappetagullu, Garagallu and Veeranatyam.
And the backdrop on the stage will be based on the Golconda Fort of Andhra Pradesh. This festival, being organised by Kerala Tourism, will also feature a crafts bazar, food festival and an ethnic plant and flower show.
