'Shatasloki Ramayanam' in dance / Hyderabad

Legend has it that Sage Narada narrated the story of Ramayana to Valmiki Muni in a hundred slokas (stanzas), which the latter expanded into the full-fledged version of the Ramayana.

Swami Ganapathi Sachidanda of Avadhoota Datta Peetham in Mysore has set the 100 slokas to Carnatic ragas.

Geetha Ganesan of Uttaraa Center for Performing Arts, Hyderabad has choreographed the 'Shatasloki Ramayanam' into a Bharatanatyam dance ballet.

On 19 May 2004, at the annual summer camp for students organized by the Avadhoota Datta Peetham in Mysore, Geetha and her disciples performed the 'Shatasloki Ramayanam'.
On 20 May 2004, Jayaprada Ramamurthy and her disciples presented a flute recital of the Swamiji's Bhajans.
