Two special shows by top artistes form part of the Navarathri celebrations at Mylapore'e famed Sri Kapaleeswarar temple in Chennai.

Well known dancer Anita Ratnam presents a special Navaratri performance of her new production 'Andari - Images of Durga', on October 24, at 7 pm here. Last week, a dance performance featured Priyadarshini Govind. These concerts are presented on a specially erected stage at the Navarathri mandapam within the temple. And promoting the concerts are specially designed banners with blown-up photographs of the artistes, hung around the temple premises - an unusual sight here. Good job though to lure rasikas for the performances. And, are the sabhas in Chennai taking ideas from here, to promote their December Season concerts?

The concerts are organised by Vijay Kumar Reddy who is the Chairman of the Kapaleeswarar Koil Trust.

Reddy also plans a music and dance fest at the temple, for the December Season this year.
