| The Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer Trust conferred the title 'Bhava Laya Sangeeta Bhoopati' on Madurai T.N. Seshagopalan recently. The award carried a medal and cash.
The other awardees were T.A. Ganesa Pillai (tavil), Tiruvellore Parthasarathy (violin), Tiruvarur Krishnamurthy (mridangam), N. Sashikiran (vocal), P. Ganesh (vocal and chitraveena) and Nagai Sriram (violin). The awards function was held on 20 November at the Sri Krishna Gana Sabha. Writer and playwright Cho Ramaswami presided and gave away the awards. Narayan Viswanath, syndicate member of the Annamalai University, A. Natarajan, former Director of Doordarshan and Vidwan Alleppey Venkatesan felicitated the awardees. The awards function was followed by a concert of T.N Seshagopalan, accompanied by V.V Ravi on the violin and T.K Murthy on the mridangam. | ||||
