Study tour of South India

Dancer Usha Raghavan, her Bharatanatyam students from London and the students of Annalisa Migliorini of Rome, Italy will be on a tour of South India for two weeks from July 23 to August 7, 2005.

During the study tour, the students will be visiting Chennai, Chidambaram, Tanjore and Kumbakonam. They will attend workshops in Bharatanatyam, carnatic vocal music and veena, in addition to learning theory of dance and music from Usha Raghavan, Malathy Thothadri and Umashankar.

Says Usha, "The aim of this tour is to understand and appreciate Indian cultural heritage, temple traditions and fine arts".
