Karnataka College of Percussion's fest / Bangalore
By Srimatha / Bangalore

Karnataka College of Percussion, a music school led by the couple T. A. S. Mani and R. A. Ramamani, celebrated its 41st annual music festival at Ananya, Bangalore, from 22 to 26 February 2006.

Started in 1964 by T. A. S. Mani, KCP has produced a good number of quality musicians. The alumni includes senior and established artistes like B. N. Chandramouli, R. A. Rajagopal and T. N. Shashikumar. The college arranges programmes regularly, apart from the annual music festivals in Bangalore and Chennai (the monsoon music festival in collaboration with Balaganamrutham, Chennai) and the Purandara and Tyagaraja Aradhanas.

This year’s festival in Bangalore featured a wide range of artistes including Sarah Buechi (a student of KCP from Switzerland), Maharajapuram S. Ramachandran, Ramamani, D. Balakrishna, Abhishek Raghuram and the maestro R. K. Srikantan.
