The statue has MS in a sitting pose with the tambura in one hand. The height of the bronze statue is 13 feet and it is said to weigh 4 tons. Ramarao of Kothakottah village at Kakinada district is the sculptor of the statue.

The total expenditure for this project was put at Rs.15 lakhs and the entire amount has been sponsored by Nageswara Rao, a Board members of TTD Trust.

The inauguration took place on May 28 when the week-long Tirupathy Utsavam began. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, unveiled the statue.
