IDA dance fest / Bangalore
 
International Dance Alliance's Bangalore chapter and Padmalaya Centre for Performing Arts, will present a dance festival Rasaa on Nov. 3, 2007.

The International Dance Alliance (IDA) has been encouraging art and aspiring artistes. It is functioning in Chennai for the last 20 years under the guidance of Ms. Leela Sekhar. IDA began its Bangalore chapter in 2004.

Padmalaya Centre for Performing Arts, Bangalore, which trains young artistes in Bharathanatyam for the past 20 years has joined hands with IDA to conduct this fest.
Headed by Mrs. Padma Murali , the institute has nurtured many young talents, since its inception. It has diversified in its activities to teach classical, devotional music and yoga.

With a theme based festival every year IDA and PCPA present a unique festival to a diverse audience.

The theme for this year is Rasaa.
With Rasaa, five basic emotions, Shringara, the divine love of Krishna for Radha ; Veeram, the victory of Shakthi, the Divine mother over Evil; Karunya, Sympathy of Rama ; Roudram, the anger of the Demons ; Shantham, the oneness of aatma and paramaatma.

Five different groups will be performing this year in Bharathanatyam (Divyasena and group from Chennai) , Kathak (Mridula Rao and Deepa ) , Kuchipudi (Saraswati Rajateesh and group), folk (Arathi Arun and group from Mysore) and contemporary (Samathvam Ensemble) forms.

Ubhayagana Vidushi Dr.Shyamala G.Bhave will be the chief guest for the evening’s programme.

Padmalaya Centre for Performing Arts will present the Kala Rathna award to Sathavadhani Dr. R. Ganesh, scientist , classical literature scholar and composer.

The fest will be held at A. D. A. Rangamandira , J.C.Road, Bangalore.
