The Bangalore Gayana Samaja, established in 1905 is a unique cultural organisation promoting classical music and dance. The Samaja celebrated its centenary in 1905, which was inaugurated by the then President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
To promote young talent in Carnatic classical music, the Samaja conducts the 'Talent Promotion Junior Concerts'.
This year these concerts will be held from June 16 to 21, both days included. There will be two concerts on each day : one from 5 p.m to 6.30 p.m. and the other from 7.45 p.m. to 8.15 p.m
Those young musicians who wish to make use of this opportunity to perform in Banglore under the Samaja's banner, may send their application with bio-data and a recent recording of their performance either in the form of a CD or cassette (on non –returnable basis) to : The Hon. A panel of judges will select candidates for awarding prizes to those who will go on to perform at this fest.
The awards wil be given during the Samaja's Music Conference in July-August 2008.
The decision of the judges will be final. This competition is open to those between 15 and 25 years. Those who were selected in the previous years are not eligible.
