Narayana Tirtha aradhana
 

The 264th aradhana of Sri Narayana Tirtha will be held from February 19 to 21 at the saint's brindavanam, at Thirupoonthuruthy near Thanjavur.

The inaugural function will be held at 4 p.m. G. Rangasamy Moopanar, president of Thyaga Brahma Mahotsava Sabha, Tiruvaiyaru, will preside over the function, which will be inaugurated by R. Seshasayee, Chairman and Managing Director of Ashok Leyland Ltd., N. Kamakoti, executive director of City Union Bank, Kumbakonam, will be the guest of honour.

Tarangam recitals on the inaugural day will be rendered by M.S. Sheela and B.V. Balasai (flute). Mangayarkarasi's upanyasam on 'Kannan Karunai', will take place on Febrauary 19 and 20.

Prominent artists will pay homage to the saint composer on February 20 and 21. The aradhana puja will be held on Sunday, February 21, Masi Sukla Ashtami day, Krithiga star, the day on which Sri Narayana Tirtha attained Jeeva Samadhi at this holy site.

Thirupoonthuruthy Narayana Tirtha Swamigal Trust has constitued a renovation committee to undertake the repair works at the shrine and the precincts of the temple.

The renovation work is expected to commence after the aradhana celebration. The estimated cost of the repair work is Rs. 20 lakhs.
