Disciples celebrate vocalist Nagamani Srinath's 60th birthday
 

To celebrate the 60th birthday of the versatile singer, stage artiste, composer and guru Mysore Nagamani Srinath, her disciples and the students of Sunaada Cultural Centre have organised a day long celebration on April 14 at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Bangalore. The event will begin at 10 am and go on till 5 pm.

This is also an occasion to celebrate the silver jubilee of the institution Sunaada Cultural Centre that Nagamani started in Bangalore for teaching music in the gurukula style 25 years ago.

Beginning with an invocation by the students of Sunaada Cultural Centre, a CD on compositions of Nagamani Srinath, rendered by senior and young atistes like R. K. Padmanabha, Bangalore S. Shankar, Vidya Bhushana, Shyamala Bhave, Neela Ramgopal, T. S. Rama, M. S. Sheela, R. A. Ramamani, Sukanya Prabhakar, R. N. Sreelata, Suma Sudhindra, Vasantha Madhavi, T. S. Sathyavati, Nagavalli Nagaraj, P. Ramaa, R. Chandrika, Manasi Prasad, H. S. Rajalakshmi, M. S. Vidya, B. R. Geeta, Kavita and Triveni, Kalavati Avadooth, Hamsini Nagendra, Vani Satish, Usha Rajan, Uma Kumar, Suchetan and Nandini Rao will be released.

A unique Music Trio concert by Nagamani Srinath with Kodandaram on the Nadaswara and Praveen Godkindi on the flute will be a special show at this event.

Post lunch, an instrumental music session 'Sunaada Vadya directed by Geeta Ramanand and Anoor Anathakrishna Sharma will be held in which senior artistes from Karnataka will participate.

Felicitations by Mysore V. Subramanya, R. K. Padmanabha, Suma Sudhindra, R. A. Ramamani, V. S. Rajagopal and C. Cheluvaraj will follow.

Veena Murthy Vijay will display a presentation on Nagamani's dance music compositions followed by Sunaada Nrithya by Vasundhara Doreswamy and Sunaadaakita, another dance event by Samanvay troupe consisting of Sanjay Shantaram, Sharma Sanjay and Anuradha Vikranth will draw the curtains.

The event is open to all the rasikas.
