Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, a premier cultural institution in Chennai for the past 55 years is remembering its founder-member R. Yagnaraman with a unique arts fest.

Yagnaraman was General Secretary of the sabha for more than five decades. Since his demise in 2007, a festival to commemorate his birthday on July 1st is organized and christened as Yagnaraman July Fest.

This festival is unique and different because the boundaries of art by language and geography are redrawn and the different streams of dance and music are allowed to fuse with one another to integrate and produce a profound effect.

This year, the Yagnaraman July Fest 2010 is on from June 26 to July 4.

The Yagnaraman Life Time Achievement Award 2010 is being conferred on Carnatic maestro Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna on 4th July - the valedictory day. Details of the fest programme are posted on the Chennai Kutcheri Calendar hosted on KutcheriBuzz web site. http://www.kutcheribuzz.com/calendar
