The annual Natyanjali dance festival 2010 at Perur, near Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu is to be held this year from Sept.24 to 26 at the famed Patteswarar Temple which is a few kilometres from the centre of this busy town. The host is the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis.
On Sept.24, the students of Parimalam Venkataraman of Coimbatore open the fest with their aradhana. Thereafter, the duo of Rukmani Vijayakumar and Paswanath Upadhye from Bangalore, known for their agile and fast paced pieces will light up the stage. Finally, Srekala Bharath will lead her sishyas for a presentation of the 'Arupadi Veedu' dance drama
On Sept. 25, Meenakshi Sagar and her students from Coimbatore will offer aradhana and this will be followed by the recital of the duo, the Kirans from Bangalore and then a Kuchipudi dance ensemble by the students of Pavani Shree Latha from Hyderabad.
On Sept 26, Sunday, students of Renuka Balasubramaniam from Neyveli open the evening's show, followed by Chennai-based Urmila Satyanarayana and group's performance and then a grand Yakshagana recital of ' Mahisasuramardhini' by Chandrasekara Navada and his party from Suratkal, Karnataka.
