Leading flautist Sikkil Mala Chandrasekhar was decorated with a Life Time Achievement Award for her accomplishments as a Carnatic musician by the Sahara Group recently.
The event took place on March 31 at the Sahara City in Lucknow, UP, India.
Sahara has, in the past honoured legends like Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pandit Raghunath Seth and Pandit Ronu Majumdar.
Mala presented a short concert after the formal function in the auditorium which has a capacity of 7000 people.
Mala Chandrasekhar resides in Chennai.
