Sadhana, the academic initiative of the Higher Education Department, Government of Kerala, under the auspices of Chembai Memorial Government Music College, Palakkad is hosting a week long ALL INDIA CONFERENCE ON MUSIC EDUCATION.
It will also host the Mridangam Wizard Palakkad T.S.Mani Iyer Centenary MUSIC FESTIVAL from 16.1.2012 to 22.1.2012.
Eminent musicians,i nstrumentalists, scholars and professors will participate in the Conference and deliver Lecture Demonstrations and special interactive concerts.
The conference will focus on short term programmes Scholars in Residence, Workshops and music festivals.
Sangeetha Kalanidhi Prof. T. N. KRISHNAN will inaugurate the Conference at 10.40 a.m. on Monday the 16th January.
K. V. MOHAN KUMAR, District Collector, Palakkad will preside.

On this occasion is the inauguration of Prof. P. Sambamoorthy Memorial by Sangeetha Kalanidhi Prof. TRICHY SANKARAN.
The academic sessions covers themes like "Teaching Manodharma Sangita ; Focus" and on 'Restructuring the Current Curriculum of Music Colleges'.
There are concerts every evening featuring well kknown artistes like T N Krishnan, Lalgudi G J R Krishnan and Vijayalakshmi, Dr M Narmada, Abhishek Raghuram and Jayanthi Kumaresh
