A World Dance Day event has been curated by senior dancer Geeta Chandran in New Delhi on April 30 and May 1, 2016.
Geeta's Natya Vriksha is hosting the festival of many parts.
On April 30 morning, Geeta's students will have a public demo of a dance class. You can come by to observe how Bharatanatyam classes are conducted here.
That evening, at 4 p.m. Geeta is in dialogue with classical dance maestro Yamini Krishnamurthy, to talk about her life and her dance.
At 6.30 p.m., Bhavana Reddy dances and this will be followed by a dance and interactive session by dancer-teacher Swarnamalya and her Attic team from Chennai.
On May 1. Chennai-based Anita Ratnam hosts a dance movement workshop.
At 4 p.m., the session is devoted to pay tributes to the late guru and 'abhinaya' exponent, Kalanidhi Narayanan - featured here are Dr Kapila Vatsyanan, Jamuna Krishnan, Rasika Khanna and Pratibha Prahlad.
Thereafter, are two recitals - one by Vasudevan Iyengar (Bharatanatyam) and then by Sanjukta Sinha (Kathak)
