Trinity Festival at Kalakshetra: Chennai

Kalakshetra Foundation is celebrating what it calls Trinity Festival on Feb. 13 and 14 at its campus in Chennai.


This annual celebration coincides with the Bagula Panchami – marking the Thyagaraja aradhana day. A procession of the portrait of lord Rama is part of the celebration and the event in the morning concludes with the singing of Pancharatna kritis and utsava sampradaya kritis of saint Thyagaraja.


On the 13th of February, Bharata Kalanjali’s dance drama titled ‘Thyagaraja Vaibhavam’ choreographed by senior guru V P Dhananjayan which portrays the essence of the musical genius of saint Thyagaraja is to be presented.


On the 14th of February, there is a Carnatic vocal recital by Neyveli R Santhanagopalan who will be accompanied by Vittal Ramamurthy on violin, Chennai S. Thyagarajan on mridangam and Venkatranaman on kanjira is featured.
